Warbeast
Any Metal fan will know, you can't really go wrong with a bit of Trash. Whether your listening to legends like Sepultura and Kreator, or new blood bands like Evile, you know that your guaranteed some serious headband worthy riffs. Its also fair to say that new Thrash bands have been struggling to break out from the shadow cast by the true legends of the sub-genre. This "survival of the fittest" style struggle for stardom that surrounds Thrash Metal also works to Metal fans advantage. It means that bands that do break out into the Metal stream, like Warbeast, are going to be something very special indeed.
Another undeniable driving force behind Warbeast's rising popularity has to be the input from Down and Pantera front man, Philip H. Anselmo. Mr Anselmo has produced Warbeast's albums under his own Housecore Records, and given the band a rather boosting support slot to Down on the recent UK tour.
But this input doesn't explain all the success Warbeast have received. A large amount of the success must be credited to the headbanging, limb waving, beard inducing and horn throwing debut album, Krush The Enemy. As well as being one of the greatest Thrash albums in recent history, Krush The Enemy was without a doubt the best launching pad the band could get for a blast off to big time success. The album boasts such gems as title track, "Krush The Enemy", the Thrash anthem "We Are The Vultures" and "The Controller".
Warbeast's new album, Destroy will be released in April but is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated albums of the year. If you just can't wait to hear new material from Warbeast, then be sure to check out there latest offerings on War Of The Gargantuas. War Of The Gargantuas is a 4 song split EP with Philip H. Anselmo on his new solo material. The 2 songs from Warbeast are totally Krushing (See what I did there??) and well worth hearing.
The next step of course will be to try and catch Warbeast live, and after glowing reviews from their last UK appearance, its going to be something I'm not alone in wanting to see. So if you love Thrash or just Metal in general, be sure to check out one of the best new bands around.
Thanks for reading!!!
